Location: Cambridge
Salary: £33,000 – £34,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week + TOIL for additional hours worked
Holiday: 25 days plus Bank Holidays

BLW Recruitment is recruiting for a Chef de Partie to join the talented kitchen team at the prestigious college in Cambridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef to work in a professional kitchen producing high-quality food for students, Fellows, conferences and events. You’ll take ownership of your section, support junior chefs and work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain exceptional culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes across all kitchen sections.
• Manage your section and support the day-to-day kitchen operation.
• Supervise and develop junior chefs.
• Assist with menu development and stock control.
• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, HACCP and allergen compliance.
• Minimise waste and help manage kitchen costs.
• Work closely with the wider catering team to deliver an excellent dining experience.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or a strong Demi Chef de Partie ready to step up.
• NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (Level 3 desirable).
• Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• A passion for quality food and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
